Join the EV Refueling Revolution with AB Electrical
If you are an electric car owner or are seriously considering becoming one, then AB Electrical is committed to helping you make the transition to a greener way of life completely painless. New Zealand, which generates 80% of its energy from renewable resources, is the perfect playground for electrical vehicle owners and AB Electrical is an industry leader in EV charging station installations. We work closely with all the EV vehicle distributors to ensure we maintain the high standards of expertise and service our customers have come to expect from us.
Charging at home – Convenient, Cost-Effective and Easy
With over 85% of New Zealand homes having off-street parking installing a personal EV charging system at home makes overnight charging easy, convenient and very cost effective. What’s more, with electrical charging costing just 30c per liter of petrol – with WAY LESS emissions – Electrical car owners look to save a bundle over the long run too.
Charge twice as fast
Our Auckland based electricians will gladly consult with you to assess your individual EV charging requirements and needs. As an electric car owner, you should be aware of the two main types of charger. The type you choose can drastically affect your cars charging time.
Level 1 EV chargers
Supplied with all EV cars, this is the standard charge type and allows for the car to be plugged into any 240V outlet – much like you would any household appliance. Whilst this is convenient, it can limit the speed at which the car charges becoming a hindrance if you need the car unexpectedly.
Level 2 EV chargers
These chargers are sold separately from the car (although we advise buying one at the same time as your car purchase). The speed at which these devices charge is dependent on the size of the supply to the charging unit. Whilst these chargers do require installation and setup by a trained and qualified electrician, they will ensure that your car charges faster – which really comes into play in case of an unforeseen emergency.
We will be more than happy to discuss all your EV charging requirements with you and we welcome your call, email or in store visit.

I had a faulty light switch connecting to a heat lamp/fan unit in the bathroom. The switch generated sparks when it was turned on. I submitted an online service request to AB Electrical. I received a return call within 10 mins and Mark the electrician arrived at my home shortly afterwards. The problem was dealt with efficiently by replacing the switch unit. AB Electrical has a good team to handle the booking and on site work. A big thanks to Mark and the office administrator!

Last week, we had 9 Led downlights installed by AB Electrical Holdings Ltd. We are very pleased with the led downlights installed – it makes a big difference with lighting.
We are impressed when dealing with Clynton in terms of getting a quote and making an appointment.
We are very impressed with the electrician called Tom as he was very professional and efficient. He made our day, as he was so polite, friendly with a big smiley face and did a perfect job. A1+++ We even told him how nice he was.
We would highly recommend AB Electrical to anyone. Thank you for your great customer services.
Our best regards,
Natalie and Bill

Mark from AB Electrical did an excellent job and made the whole process easy from start to finish. He was warm, friendly, professional, and very thorough with the work. His workmanship was tidy, and he took the time to clearly explain the best options for our EV charger installation and what we should consider moving forward.
Howard was also extremely thorough during the initial assessment, providing helpful advice on the most suitable products and discussing the various options available for our home installation. His knowledge and recommendations gave us confidence that we were making the right decision.

Clynton and the boys did an amazing job with our switch board upgrade and various other jobs(including smart switches) to bring our old house up to modern standards. Clynton even got the asbestos issue resolved at a great price. All electricians (Mark, Joe) were very professional and the price was the best I could find around and they stayed with the price even when things changed. Thanks for all the hard work guys.
